Product branding:
Products from our daily lifes that every Icelander knows. The products look exactly the same as we know them except that the logo has been changed to sign language. The aim of this approach is the unconscious learning of the alphabet of the sign language.
Word boxes:
Three boxes showcase the importance of prioritizing your vocabulary when learning sign language. Learning communication words which will benefit you in communication with others. In most cases when learning a new language it is not necessary to learn the alphabet first. But in sign language, the alphabet plays a crucial role as it is the basis of all words ( in written language). Under the „Ég heiti (e. My name is)“ box, there is a printer with a keybord. When You write your name with written letters the printer will translate them into sign language.
Sign Along:
Approach where well-known songs are sung – and as a result many people know the lyrics. However, the hand form also appears. “Learn by doing” is a method that is widely used and speaks into this context. With a video, one gets a greater feeling with the sign language, since hand forms, facial expressions and body language are such a big part of the sign language.
